The Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA) is a non-invasive functional test that measures essential minerals, toxic elements, and heavy metal exposure by analysing a small hair sample.
Because minerals control thousands of chemical reactions in the body — including energy production, detoxification, thyroid function, hormone balance, and nervous system regulation — imbalances can contribute to a wide range of long-standing symptoms.
HTMA provides a deeper insight than standard blood tests, revealing long-term patterns in mineral status, rather than a single moment-in-time snapshot.
This test assesses 17 minerals and 18 toxic metals.
Common reasons to test:
Fatigue, burnout or low energy
Thyroid symptoms despite “normal” blood tests
Chronic stress or anxiety
Hair thinning or slow growth
Persistent skin or acne issues
Hormonal imbalances
Mineral deficiencies (zinc, magnesium, selenium, etc.)
Heavy metal exposure (lead, mercury, arsenic, aluminium)
Poor detoxification capacity
Mood changes or irritability
Immune weakness
Slow metabolism or difficulty losing weight
What HTMA can reveal:
✔ Deficiencies in essential minerals: zinc, magnesium, selenium, calcium, potassium, sodium
✔ Mineral ratios that affect thyroid, metabolism, and adrenal function
✔ Hidden heavy metal accumulation: mercury, lead, arsenic, aluminium, cadmium
✔ Nervous system stress patterns
✔ Oxidative stress, inflammation and detoxification capacity
✔ Imbalances contributing to skin breakouts, fatigue, or mood changes
HTMA is particularly valuable for identifying mineral depletion caused by:
Long-term stress
Past illness
Poor absorption
Gut issues
Medications
Environmental exposure
High-intensity exercise or burnout
